Hi, my name is Nintynine.9
I am 99.9% decaffeinated and gently roasted from Coffea arabica beans. I come from the Valle de Cauca region in southwestern Colombia. In this region, there are many small-scale farmers who work together to improve their economic situation.
I have been naturally decaffeinated using sugarcane. This is a new and innovative process. In this process, molasses extracted from sugarcane is fermented to produce alcohol, which is then mixed with naturally occurring acetic acid. This creates ethyl acetate, a compound also found in many types of fruit. During the decaffeination process, the beans are steamed to open their pores. They are then washed with water and ethyl acetate to extract the caffeine from the beans. The dissolved caffeine is filtered out along with the water. The beans are then steamed again to remove any remaining ethyl acetate before drying.
100% natural, 99.9% caffeine-free.
